People for bikes:
Bike lane week

bike lane week campaign

Client: People For Bikes
Role: Art Direction/Senior Visual Design/Illustration

When People For Bikes first reached out to me to work on this project with them, I jumped at the opportunity. Not only are they a smart and thoughtful bunch of people, but they are the backbone of support for the bicycle infrastructure within the U.S. cityscape. They are the liaison between the bicycle citizen and local and national governments, providing research that provides that allow public representatives to encourage cost effective investments that will benefit our country years from now and well into the future. Have you noticed the number of bike lanes exploding in the U.S.? Well, give thanks to these folks!

Imagine a place where one bike lane leads to the next. Where trails, bridges, and underpasses lead safely to exactly where you want to go.

The need was to create an infographic that was interesting, fun, and informative for viewers. They needed the capacity to chop the infographic into modules for separate presentation to various government officials for their specific occasions and needs. The illustration style needed to be fresh, open and whimsical, but the design had to stay on brand.

I came up with an illustration style that hit the mark with fresh color and layered transparent graphics that were fun and easy to relate to. With the infographic nailed, we moved on to the t-shirt design, poster, branded e-mail and social media assets.

The client loved it and is expecting great results from the campaign with an outreach nationwide, through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. There was excitement nationwide, as 29 cities participated in the campaign.
